.TEL Top Level Domains Coming Soon

TUCKER USA, 10 November 2008- - Comtrends, a leading Internet consulting and hosting firm, announced today that it would be participating in the launch of the new .TEL top level Internet domain this fall. .TEL will soon join other well-known top level domains such as .COM, .NET, and .ORG, and Comtrends will be one of the first providers to sell names under .TEL.

While domains under .COM, .NET, .ORG, and other existing top level domains require that domain owners buy hosting accounts to fully use their domain, .TEL domains require no hosting. An Internet user browsing to a company's .TEL domain would be able to find contact information for a company, such as their telephone number, email address, web site, and other information that company chose to provide. Essentially, .TEL is a "phone book" for the Internet.

.TEL domains will be sold in three phases. The first phase begins on 3 December 2008 and runs through 2 February 2009. During this first "sunrise" phase, registrations will only be sold to trademark holders. Sunrise pricing is $350 for three year registrations. After the close of this phase, a "landrush" phase begins on 3 February 2009 that allows people to purchase .TEL domains at a premium price through 23 March 2009. On 24 March, .TEL domains will be available at their normal price.
