COMTRENDS GOES THE DISTANCE FOR INTERNATIONAL ISPS

ATLANTA USA, 10 January 2001- - Comtrends announced the placement of it's first
dedicated international professional services personnel in West Africa. This
makes Comtrends the first and only international ISP professional services
company to locate staff in Africa full time.

"We have seen a lot of growth in developing markets around the world, especially
in Africa and the Middle East," said Robbie Honerkamp, president of Comtrends.
"The placement of a full time Comtrends engineer in West Africa makes us the
best choice for companies looking for professional Internet help in Africa, the
Middle East, or Asia."

Comtrends specializes in providing technical expertise to Internet Service
Providers. Comtrends is now able to offer it's entire suite of services to the
African and Middle Eastern Internet markets. These services include planning
assistance to new ISPs, upgrade/expansion assistance to ISPs needing to handle
more customers or add new services, and technical outsourcing services for ISPs
who need ongoing support of their technical operations.

"The response to our new office has been amazing," Mr. Honerkamp said. "We are
currently working on several new proposals for prospective customers in addition
to the services we're providing to our current African customers."

Comtrends specializes in using Linux and Open Source software, which allow ISPs
the latest, most stable operating platforms at a minimal cost- the software itself
is completely free without any licensing or upgrade fees. This is a great relief to
budget-conscious ISPs which usually cannot afford expensive proprietary software.
Until now, there has been little support for this software in Africa.

Internet consulting companies have traditionally ignored developing markets,
prefering to concentrate on more lucrative first-world areas. "We feel that
the Internet has the potential to revolutionize the way people live, especially
in third world nations," Mr. Honerkamp said. "Comtrends intends to provide the
support needed to help the Internet expand into areas many previously thought
it would never reach. Our new African office enables us to provide a high
level of technical support in some of the last frontiers on the Internet."

Comtrends is a leading provider of Open Source based Internet solutions. Based
in Atlanta, GA., the privately held company has gained a reputation for quality
service that is quickly making it a leader in global Internet services. For more
